Not one to let a good thing go blasé, the folks at Bentley have concocted a series of options to improve their already bonkers Continental GT Speed ultra-luxury grand touring car as well as the Flying Spur sedan. More is always better, right?
These enhancements include styling as well as performance upgrades to the GT Speed model. But that’s not all; the Flying Spur also received some attention. The latter product will now be offered with Bentley’s 4.0-liter (that’s litre in the Queen’s English) twin-turbo V8 engine, a change that supposedly broadens its appeal.
But back to the sultry GT model. Engineers have upped the ante on this car’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine; the monster powerplant now delivers 626 hp along with 604 lb-ft of twist.
The Flying Spur four-door’s newly available force-fed V8 delivers 500 hp and 487 lb-ft of giggle-inducing torque, monster figures to be certain but they seem almost insignificant compared to the gargantuan W12′s output. Still, that’s enough to allow this car to dash from zero to 60 in under five seconds.

The coupe version of the Continental GT Speed can now reach a top speed of 206 mph, a figure that makes it the fastest production Bentley ever built. The convertible model is no slouch, either. The drop-top’s terminal velocity is slightly less at a still unfathomable 203 miles an hour.
Naturally other upgrades are required to reach such speeds. Accordingly these cars feature a lowered, stiffened suspension as well as new body work that includes a sharpened front splitter, special side skirts and an updated rear diffuser.
Look for these revised cars to debut in all of their glory at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, which opens to the press next week. Deliveries of the 2014 Bentley Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur will commence this spring.
